-I just bought a s&w mp 40 for 400 dollars. Tho is the first gun I ever bought. I wanted to know if I got a good deal. It I brand new come with box and the 2 crips plus the one on it 3 mags and it has the night thing you aim with. I'm new to pistols I have shot rifles before. I'm going to take classes on pistols but all I really want to know is that a good deal and is it a good gun. Btw it does no have a safety. Is that normal? If it is "brand new" as you say then i say you got a hell of a deal. New from S&W, depending on what style of MP40 and features, they retail for $570-$800. When i bought my Springfield XD9 it came with two extra 10rd and two extra 16rd magazines and i paid $500, also a great deal. Take it out to a range and run a hundred or so rounds through it and if you don't have any mechanical issues with the gun then i would say you got a good deal.1st off, this is boats and boating.
there is almost certainly a guns area, possibly in sporting.
smith and wesson is one of the leading brands in firearms.
$400 with all that sounds like a BARGAIN and then some. it sounds almost too good to be true..... is this gun NEW and from a licensed seller?
i've heard of and seen prices like that, on the streets. if it isnt NEW and from a licensed dealer, its always best to assume it has a history, by having possession of it you could be risking a LONG stay in jail.
if you bought it on the streets, wipe it CLEAN and get rid of it. return it and get your money back, if you can, or toss it in a lake or somewhere else it will never be found (by a child possibly).
It is a good deal if it is in good shape. In my area I can get one new for 476 bucks plus tax. M&P's usually do not have thumb safeties but there are models with them.
That is a lot of pistol for a beginner. I have a S&W .38 +P and it kicks like a mule.. just like any handgun with a short barrel.. All I can say is.. get some training and HANG ON TO THAT BEAST when you fire it.. and the first few times you fire it.. just have one shell in it. Years ago I bought a 1911 and had never fired a .45 handgun. The FIRST shot when where I wnated it to go.. but the gun popped up because I wasn't prepared for that much of a recoil and the SECOND shot went off just as the pistor got next to my right ear.. BAM..BAM.. just about that fast.. and I couldn't hear out of that ear for a few days.
