If boat in rough waters what pfd is recommended?

-The best would be to use Type 1 Offshore Vest. These usually have 22.5 to 35 pounds of buoyancy built into the vest. These are also designed to roll an unconscious person to the face up position to prevent drowning. I keep Type 1's onboard my motor yacht, Type 3 on my Sport boat and Offshore Type 5 on my Express Cruiser.TYPE 1

Offshore Life Jacket

This PFD is designed for extended survival in rough, open water. It usually will turn an unconscious person face up and has over 22 pounds of buoyancy. This is the best PFD to keep you afloat in remote regions where rescue may be slow in coming.

If the weather is that rough I will already be in my MUSTANG SUIT with a TYPE 1 PFD on and a safety line reaching from me to the boat.
