My boat trim stopped working but the motor would run. An hour later the motor would not start.?

-I have a 2006 tracker pro guide V16 that has a small problem. Last week my trim stopped working whn I tried to bring the motor up. I had power to the motor and the trolling motor. It was not making a noise. After about fifteen minutes it worked again until a few minutes later. After it stopped the second time the motor would not start. I have a new battery and left with a full charge. Do you think it may have a loose connection because I wigled the two leads and everything worked fine and I was able to leave the lake. I am scared to go back out if this is more than a loose connection issue. Any suggestions? I will try to tighten the battery leads and go from there.Check the grounds all around... sounds like that's the issue.
